BX Solid Ring Seals

Designed according to the standards a.p.i. for use with slotted flanges in special applications for high pressures from 5,000 psi to 15,000 p.s.i
The effective diameter of the joint is slightly greater than the effective diameter of the groove, therefore the initial contact is made on the outside of the joint, preloading it and creating a pressure activated closure.
the connections made with the bx type joint have a limited amount of positive interference, ensuring that the joint is “wedged” until a sealing relationship is achieved in the flange grooves; therefore, it is not recommended to take advantage of these joints.
Available in series bx150 to bx162, according to the following flange specifications:

Bx type solid ring gaskets can only be used with special bx slots and are not interchangeable with those of the rx series.
